Amazonia is home to the world’s largest contiguous tropical rainforest with a great variety of animal and plant species, many of which have not yet been discovered. It is an ancient habitat that has existed here for millions of years. The Amazon, which winds its way through tropical forest, is the longest river on earth at 6788 km.
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units. In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
