Description
What inspiration does the colour orange give us? Does the fresh scent of a grapefruit come to mind?
The researcher Isaac Newton divided the rainbow colour gradient into units.
In this way Newton’s colour circle was created. This consists of the colours of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. In the rainbow project I searched for these colours in nature and worked out abstractedly with the medium encaustic. Colour pigmented wax and resins are melted and applied in layers on top of each other. This project consists of 30 pictures.
This painting is an original. There are no copies or replicas.
Storage and transport of encaustic images
Room temperature is the most favourable temperature for storing the pictures. To protect the pictures from scratches, they are coated with a special encaustic paint. The pictures should be protected from prolonged direct sunlight.
